The 24th Annual BC Bowls for Kids was again another successful campaign.

We would like to thank all the following bowlers for doing a great job raising money for BC Bowls for Kids.  Again this year Larry Carlson, Grandview Lanes, Vancouver led the pack by raising $10,137.15 followed by Marv Zwarych, Lincoln Lanes, Vernon with $5,070.00 and Susan Karl, Varsity Ridge Lanes, Vancouver with $4,427.00.  Congratulations to the Bowlers from Port Coquitlam Bowl for winning the draw for a trip for 4 to Disneyland.

10 Pin Bowling World Cup

McCurdy Bowling Centre, Kelowna hosted the Provincial finals on January 30, 2010.  Congratulations to Jennifer Park, Duncan Lanes, Duncan and Ryan Reid, Crystal Lanes, Campbell River.  Both now advance to the National Championships to be held on March 20 & 21 at Fairview Bowl, St. Catharine's, Ontario.

Hawaiian Pick-A-Partner

The Provincial finals were hosted at Kobau Lanes, Osoyoos and we would like to thank Annette Tarasewich and Bonnie-Lynn Sarrazin for being great hosts.  A special thank you to the Sage & Sand Pub, Osoyoos for great food and friendly service.  Congratulations to Lynn Pachkowsky & Kathy Compston, Glenmerry Bowl, Trail for winning the trip for four to Hawaii.  Finishing second was Jason White & Travis Dicks ($300), Port Coquitlam Bowl, Port Coquitlam and finishing third was Jarrett Loehr & Leo Loehr ($200), Falcon Lanes, Kamloops.

Youth Bowling School

The 9th Annual BC Youth Bowling School (5 pin) will take place at Capri Valley Lanes, Kelowna on July 16, 17 & 18, 2010.  There is still room for applications.  If you are interested in improving your skills this is the school for you.  Check it out on the web site at www.bowlbc.com.

Coastal Insurance Provincial Open

Zone 5 Okanagan will be the host for the 2010 Coastal Insurance Provincial Open on April 2, 3 and 4 at Bowlertime 5 Pin Centre and Falcon Lanes, Kamloops.  We hope that everyone will be able to get out and watch BC's premier bowlers.  The top three men and top three ladies from the men's and ladies' teams will also compete in the singles event.  The gold medal winners of the men, ladies and mixed team plus the men's and ladies' singles will advance to the National Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 1 to 5, 2010.

On February 27, 2010 Sun Country Bowl, Penticton hosted the Provincial finals and we would like to thank Kirk McCarthy for being great hosts.  The gold medal winners will now advance to the National Championships to be held in Laval, Quebec on April 9, 10 & 11.

5 Pin Division

On March 6, 2010 the Provincial finals were held in Vernon and Kelowna.  We would like to thank Gord Wiffen & Sandi Soroka, Lincoln Lanes, Vernon for hosting the bantam division and combo teams and Bryan & Ruby Sargeant, Capri Valley Lanes, Kelowna for hosting the junior and senor divisions.  A special thank you goes out to all the volunteers, extra staff and billet homes for making the event a great success.  We would also like to thank the Village Green Hotel, Vernon for all their help.  The gold medal winners will now advance to the National Championships to be held in Gatineau, Quebec on May 1, 2 and 3.
