Youth Bowling School - 5 Pin
Our 6th Annual Youth Bowling School is now
history. The 2007 edition was the most popular yet, the 56 available spots
in the school were completely sold out five months prior to the date of the
school! For the second year in a row the school was held in Vernon at
Lincoln Lanes. A huge thank you goes out to Gord Wiffen and Sandi Soroka
along with all their staff on the wonderful job of hosting the school.
Besides making all the breakfasts, lunches and dinners for the students and
instructors. Great job Lincoln Lanes!
For every 4 students we require an instructor.
This means 14 instructors are needed for a class of 56 students. We also
need 4 pros. Three days away from their families to travel to Vernon to
teach bowling, in the middle of summer! Fortunately we have a great group
of very dedicated coaches in our province who are more than willing to help out
when asked.
Our Provincial YBC thanks the following very special
people for volunteering their time and making this year's school possible:
Dave Bissoondatt, Dick Borgenstrom, Wendy Boudot, Kim Chadwick, Viki DuMont,
Debbie Ealey, Larry Johnson, Shelley Kupryk, Gene Latray, Laddie MacKinnon, Terry
McPhee, James Montgomery, Rob Patterson, Larry Richet, Gord Stewart, Shelly
Stoushnow, Sandy Waage and Kim Williams.
Speaking of very special people, Mr. Tom Paterson of
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - anyone who has been part of Bowling School knows what
a fantastic job Tom does of operating the school each year. On behalf of
all of us in BC - Thank you Tom!
